Dr. David Cox
Optometrist - Owner
Born and raised in Bracebridge, it was only natural that Dr. David Cox would return to his hometown upon graduation from the University of Waterloo in 1984. He purchased the optometry practice from his great-uncle, who had established it in 1935. Dr. Cox has cultivated an amplitude of loyal patients over the years. He has many patients here in Bracebridge, and many more from Gravenhurst and Huntsville, who regularly travel the extra distance to see him.

Dr. Cox has won the Examiner’s Reader’s Choice award for 11 years and in 2010 won the Bracebridge Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Award.
Dr. Nicole Hatfield
Optometrist - Owner
Dr. Nicole Hatfield completed her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Guelph before earning her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry. She further expanded her clinical training through an externship in Therapeutics and Ocular Disease at the OMNI Eye Institute in Baltimore, where she developed a strong focus in managing conditions such as diabetes and glaucoma.
During her training, Dr. Hatfield also volunteered in Puerto Viejo, Ecuador with Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity, providing eye care to underserved communities—an experience that continues to shape her approach to patient care today.
Dr. Hatfield returned to Muskoka in 2019, drawn by her love of the outdoors and a strong sense of community. As a co-owner of Bracebridge Family Eyecare, she is passionate about delivering thorough, personalized care in a welcoming, family-focused environment.
She is currently back in the clinic with limited hours while balancing life with her three young children. Outside of work, Nicole enjoys time at the lake, hiking, and being with her husband, kids, and their shepherd.
Dr. Rodney St Louis
Associate Optometrist
Dr. Rodney St Louis grew up in Pickering, Ontario, and graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Science degree. He subsequently went on to the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago to complete his Doctorate of Optometry. He rotated through several clinics, including the Northport VA Medical Center in Long Island, Harper's Point Eye Associates in Cincinnati, the Rosenbloom Center and North Suburban Vision Consultants in Chicago.
Dr. St Louis received a wide range of experience in advanced care and ocular disease treatment during his clinical rotations. He has experience in surgical co-management, and basic/specialty contact lens fittings.
He is dedicated to giving each and every one of his patients the best possible eye care. Dr. St Louis is sensitive to his patient's requirements and strives to give the greatest level of care in a welcoming and professional setting that fosters long-term relationships. Rodney enjoys staying active in his spare time by engaging in activities such as weight training, basketball, and Muay Thai.
